Gus Giordano Dance School offers both year long and summer scholarships to students from around the world. Our mission is to produce dancers who are well-rounded and ready for all aspects of the professional dance world. We not only prepare our scholarship students for careers in concert dance, but also for Broadway, cruise ships, television, and teaching.

To apply submit your application along with your headshot, recent dance photo, and resume. You must also submit a DVD of a short ballet barre, short jazz combination, and short modern combination. The scholarship program includes classes in Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Barre Par Terre, Ballroom, Partnering, and Hip Hop. While participating in the intense 6 week program, scholarship students are not allowed to take classes elsewhere. (Further training is encouraged before and after participation in our program at other schools in Chicago.) Our scholarship students are required to follow the school dress code, clean and classic. Hair must be neatly pulled back, no excess jewelry should be worn in class, proper warm-up attire is allowed but must be removed after warm-up, and proper shoes for each class are required.

FULL YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship students at the Gus Giordano Dance School must have graduated from high school and have an extensive dance background. Scholarship recipients will have approximately 10 hours of classes per week separate from rehearsal times. Throughout the year scholarship students will have numerous opportunities to perform throughout the Chicagoland area building contacts and experiences that will benefit them in the future. Scholarship students are not allowed to take classes elsewhere, however further training is encouraged before and after participation in our program at other schools in Chicago. Our scholarship students are required to follow the school dress code, clean and classic.
