WHO: BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 6 TO 18 WHO LOVE TO DANCE WHAT: 45 MINUTES OF BALLET & 45 MINUTES OF JAZZ NO CUTS ARE MADE THROUGHOUT THE AUDITION PROCESS We expect our dancers to be hard working, dedicated, polite, and able to follow directions. We are looking for potential not perfection. WHERE: 5230 N CLARK STREET CHICAGO IL 60640 / FOSTER & CLARK / ANDERSONVILLE WHEN: JUNE 2 2012 / 10AM REGISTRATION BEGINS / 11AM - 1PM AUDITION GIRLS ATTIRE: BLACK LEOTARD AND PINK TIGHTS / HAIR IN A BUN / BALLET & JAZZ SHOES BOYS ATTIRE: PLAIN BLACK FITTED SHIRT WITH PLAIN BLACK SHORTS OR PANTS / BALLET & JAZZ SHOES COST: THE AUDITION FEE IS $20.00 WHICH MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO THE START OF THE AUDITION |

DANCERS AGES 6 TO 18 Gus Giordano Dance School Company auditions are held in June each year. The dancers participate in a jazz and ballet class with instruction and review from Gus Giordano Dance School director, Amy Paul Giordano, and select faculty members. Dancers who are selected are placed into appropriate groups according to skill level, experience, and age. Throughout the year company members are exposed to every dance style by highly trained faculty members with emphasis on technique and style. The company members are also given special oportunities throughout the year for their dedication to our program and dance as an artform including the company lockin (sleepover with bouncy house, popcorn machine, and more!!), numerous performances, participation in a dance competition and convention, holiday parties, and making friends that last a lifetime. |

Each year the Company Members are given an opportunity to write an essay explaining what dance means to them. The director, Amy Paul Giordano, then selects a special student who not only wrote a wonderful essay but embodies the characteristics of her mother, Peg Giordano.The Company Member who is selected then receives a full tuition scholarship for the following year. Gus' Jazz Dance Co. consists of faculty, staff, and scholarship members who want to continue spreading the joy of dance. While performing in various facilities throughout the community they educate and encourage all to embark on their own dance journey. |
